So, what does this brief moment of clarity/silence mean?
If you are capable of ‘noticing’ something when that voice in your head is silent, surely it means that there is more to your consciousness than the monologue running through your head.
It means that
the rhetoric is unnecessary and can be hushed when you want it to be…it just takes practice.
This ‘noticing’ that the internal voice, and the images it tends to conjure up to reinforce the points it wants to make, is separate and can be pushed aside is the first step to true meditation.
The practice of noticing and silencing the internal voice, well that’s meditation itself. Freeing yourself of the voice and the judgements it brings is Enlightenment. Seems that much more attainable, doesn’t it?
